Brush Your Psoriasis Away

There are a number of different ways of cleansing the body but in reality, the body actually cleanses itself on a regular basis. One of the ways that the body cleanses itself is through the skin, either by sweating or by breathing, for lack of a better term. The skin is actually an organ of the body and not only is it the largest organ of the body, it is also the one that is exposed to the most toxins from the outside environment. That is why it is important for you to make sure that you are taking care of your skin by brushing it daily.

One of the reasons why you might want to consider brushing your skin on a daily basis is if you are dealing with psoriasis. Psoriasis is a genetic problem in which the immune system turns against itself and the natural process of the skin coming to the surface is sped up considerably. Where it would usually take about a month for a skin cell to come from the lower levels of the skin out through the outer levels and to shed, the process with psoriasis only takes about a week. By brushing your skin on a daily basis, you may be able to keep it healthy and detoxified, lessening the amount of psoriasis outbreaks that you experience.

Dry skin brushing has been done for quite a long time but it is not something that is typically done by everybody. You would start by using the right type of brush, typically available at a health store. From the core of your body, you would brush out workable strokes going toward the extremities in every direction. It typically takes about 10 minutes for you to brush your body properly, but it will help you to remove the upper layer of skin that is ready to be removed and to detoxify considerably.

Although there is no known cure for psoriasis, it is certainly possible for you to be able to control it to a large extent. By avoiding many of the triggers that can cause psoriasis, such as the detoxification through the skin, you should be able to lessen the number of outbreaks that you are experiencing. It does take a little bit of time for you to do this, but if you’re able to reduce your psoriasis, it will be well worth the effort.
